LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction; is the surgery to remove the accumulation of fat in certain areas of the body by a special vacuum or syringe.
It should be noted that liposuction is neither the type of surgery for losing weight nor the treatment for obesity. It includes only the removal of the fat deposits in certain areas of the body, which are resistant to dieting and physical exercises.
During the liposuction surgery, the area or the areas with resistant fat tissues are expanded first by fluid injections. Then, a few mm long tiny incisions are performed in these regions.
Through these cuts, metal pipes of 2 to 6 mm in diameter, called cannulas, are introduced into the subcutaneous tissue. Cannulas are connected to the vacuum device with transparent pipes. While the vacuum device to which the cannulas are connected is operating, the surgeon is progressing the cannulas in the fat deposited areas. In this way, it is ensured that the persistent fat tissue is removed from the body. Vacuuming of the fat tissue is performed until the pre-decided body contours and a smooth surface is obtained.
LIPOSUCTION FOR THE COSMETIC SURGERY OF THE NECK AND JOWLS
The liposuction of the neck and jowls is the removing the fat in the neck and in the lower parts of the cheeks by means of very thin cannulas. Corsets are put on to ensure the appropriate placing of the skin and to ensure its shrinkage following the removal of the fat tissue by liposuction. This process lasts takes approximately an hour and can be performed under local anesthesia. Since it has a short duration of recovery and it does not lead to the formation of permanent scars, liposuction is the preferred type of surgery considering the comfort of the patients. The recovery time following the procedure is quite short. After 2 or 3 days following the cosmetic surgery of the neck and jowls by liposuction, the patients may resume their usual activities of daily life.
