Piezo Rhinoplasty

It is an operation to correct deformities in the nose. A beautiful appearance causes the person to feel mentally and spiritually well, and self-confidence. The nose is located in the center of the face, it is an important organ for facial beauty, so aesthetic nose surgery is one of the most performed plastic surgery all over the world. With rhinoplasty surgery, the nose can be narrowed, enlarged if necessary and deformed.

Although rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery, it can be treated with the same surgery in other problems that cause nasal congestion, such as curves in the nose and growth of the nose. In some patients, it is not possible to obtain a good functional result without performing a nasal surgery as a rhinoplasty. Therefore, rhinoplasty surgery should not only be considered as an aesthetic surgery.

Before the rhinoplasty surgery, all the problems of the patient and the expectations about the surgery should be determined in the interview and the patient should be informed about the possible improvements. The purpose of the rhinoplasty surgery is to create the most appropriate nasal shape on the patient’s face. In each patient, the relationship between the face and the nose should be examined in detail and the operation should be determined by talking to the patient. One of the most frequently encountered cases of doctors performing aesthetic nose surgery is that the patient wants a natural nose. Therefore, a good rhinoplasty surgery is intended to provide the most appropriate nasal shape to the patient’s face.

Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed by general anesthesia. Generally, patients are discharged on the day of surgery or kept in the hospital one day. In our patients, we use a special silicone or spongy tampon that allows the patient to breathe. A special plaster or splint is applied to the patient’s nose for one week and a plaster cast is taken with the sutures at the end of 1 week. Then 1 week is treated with special tapes. So aesthetic nose surgery after the patient’s work is required 10 days – 2 weeks rest.

Postoperatively, there may be swelling around the nose and in custody and these can be improved within 1-2 weeks. Contrary to known, there is not much pain after the operation and simple painkillers are usually sufficient for pain.

What is PİEZO RHİNOPLASTY?

Piezo is an ultrasonic device used for rhinoplasty surgeries and for shaping only bone tissues. Thanks to Piezo, forming can only be done in bone tissue. Thus, no damage to other soft tissues in the nose. After surgery with piezo, there is no pain, bruising or swelling. Therefore, piezo method is more comfortable for patients.

Is a nose surgery operation painful ?

During the operation you will be under the influence of anesthesia, you will not feel any pain during the operation. For the first few days, all patients are given painkillers. The most common complaint is the difficulty of breathing through the nose during the operation night. When you remove the nasal dressings we put on the first night, you will start to breathe more easily. Most of the patients who came to the post-operative examination indicated that they did not experience any problems during the week.

Are there complications or risks of nose aesthetics ?

Each surgical operation has a certain risk and complication potential. Your surgeon’s task is to anticipate them and inform you. Although excessive bleeding after nasal surgery is very rare, it is a duty to inform patients of this possibility. If this happens, it will occur within a few hours immediately after the operation. In this case, the person should not worry, the doctor should be informed immediately.

Can I correct the shape of my nose while correcting my breathing problem?

In the operation you are going to take, both your breathing problems and visually dissatisfaction can be eliminated. The appearance of your nose can be adapted to your face, but changing your nose’s appearance will be considered an aesthetic operation, so your health insurance will not cover it. You should contact with your health insurance company for issues.

Does smoking affect my recovery after nose surgery?

In most surgical operations, smoking affects healing. Because of the main structure showing the result of nose cosmetic surgery especially in the nose skin, intensive smoking after surgery will negatively affect the outcome of the surgery. I naturally warn my patients about smoking at every opportunity.

When will the sutures be taken after my nose surgery ?

Depending on the type of our operation, if you have stitches to be taken, it will be appropriate to take one week later. The sutures thrown into the nose do not have to be taken because they are self-melting over time.

When can I breathe comfortably ?

You can breathe through the thin silicone layer that we place in the nose immediately after the surgery. We recommend not to blow our patients during the week after the operation. After the first week, you can start to rinse your nose with salt water and start to clean it slightly. This will also help you to clean and remove the shells inside.

Is it possible for the nose to grow after the nose surgery?

When the nose aesthetic operation is applied to adults, the nose does not continue to grow. But if the patient is younger, ıt can continue to grow. For this reason, we recommend girls to wait at least age of 16 and we recommend boys to wait at least age of 17-18.
